Yorkshire views from the coast to the Wolds and the Dales are on show at Harrogate’s West Park Hotel with an exhibition of paintings by York artist Malcolm Ludvigsen.

Malcolm is a plein-air oil painter who works outside to capture landscapes from around the region. His work can be seen in homes and galleries throughout the UK and the USA. He won the Oldie British Art Award in 2013.

The works on show range from Filey to Burnsall and from Bishop Wilton to Wensleydale.

Provenance Inns and Hotels Group Director Michael Ibbotson said: “Malcolm’s subject matter really fits with our own Yorkshire ethos and I am sure his painting will appeal to the many visitors to our district from far and wide.”

As well as being a painter, Malcolm is a professor of mathematics, specialising in relativity and cosmology. His professorship is from the University of Linkoping in Sweden but he also teaches at York University. He took up painting during a sabbatical and has not stopped since.

Malcolm’s paintings will be available to buy from £190 – £390.
